AWC Intercontinental Championship Match: Hooligan Hotrod(c) vs AC Kidd
The crowd are divided behind both stars as Hooligan Hotrod and AC Kidd lock up with AC Kidd getting the headlock. Hooligan Hotrod backs into the ropes to try and push AC Kidd off only for AC Kidd to use that momentum and kneel, lift Hooligan Hotrod up in a fireman's carry and death valley driver Hooligan Hotrod right out of the gate. The crowd pop for the move but Hooligan Hotrod is able to stay alive after the cover. AC Kidd stays in control with a showcase of various pins; a crucifix, a jackknife, a prawn pin hold and a perfect bridge after a northern lights suplex. Hooligan Hotrod manages to kick out of them all but gets put on the ropes thanks to AC Kidd's kneeling jawbreaker. AC Kidd catches Hooligan Hotrod on the rebound with his side slam but still Hooligan Hotrod is able to kick out of the hold. AC Kidd attempts the death valley driver again, only for Hooligan Hotrod to elbow AC Kidd and turn it into a headscissors takedown. The crowd pop for Hooligan Hotrod now as he picks up speed for a springboard back elbow to drop AC Kidd again. Speed is on Hooligan Hotrod 's side as he knocks AC Kidd over with the running dropkick and then baseball slides through AC Kidd's legs near the ropes; winds up on the apron and slingshots back into the ring with a somersault bulldog to bring AC Kidd down face first. AC Kidd is groggy but moving so Hooligan Hotrod busts out his trademark starship pain to try and win the contest, but AC Kidd manages to fight on.
After a failed superplex, Hooligan Hotrod punches AC Kidd off the top rope and launches off with a diving headbutt right on the money. The official waits for Hooligan Hotrod to crawl over for the cover but AC Kidd manages to kick out attwo and a half. Next, Hooligan Hotrod turns AC Kidd's chest red with some stiff chops but AC Kidd reverses the irish whip. Hooligan Hotrod runs up and back flips over AC Kidd and picks up some speed on the ropes to try a jumping spinning wheel kick; AC Kidd ducks underneath it and gets struck by the running double knee armbreaker. Hooligan Hotrod clutches his arm and tries rolling away from AC Kidd, but AC Kidd locks in a mat-based hammerlock to further wear down the arm. Hooligan Hotrod lands on his feet as AC Kidd attempts a hammerlock suplex. Hooligan Hotrod fakes a back kick and gets extra swing on his pele kick right on the temple. AC Kidd stumbles and falls to a knee, setting Hooligan Hotrod up for the hurricanrana driver. AC Kidd is still stirring but has no idea where he's at; Hooligan Hotrod uses this to land his spinning headscissors takedown and strings together his starship pain into the mix hoping to put away AC Kidd...but AC Kidd hangs on with some fight left to give.
Hooligan Hotrod heads to the top rope to try and end it all and AC Kidd knows it. AC Kidd gets back to his feet to catch Hooligan Hotrod with a solid haymaker to stun them. The audience in the arena get to their feet to see AC Kidd go up to the second rope for the superplex. Hooligan Hotrod tries to punch his way out of it but AC Kidd still manages to throw Hooligan Hotrod to a thunderous pop. Then, to a building pop, AC Kidd battles through all the pain in the match to float over and drag Hooligan Hotrod up into a brainbuster in the middle of the ring. The cameras shake from the crowd's booming pop for that moment showing AC Kidd's heart, tenacity and just how much he wants the win. AC Kidd gets Hooligan Hotrod up and startled by their sit-out jawbreaker. Hooligan Hotrod gets back up and looks for an inverted frankensteiner but AC Kidd pulls them down into an atomic drop that fluidly leads into a snap dragon suplex. AC Kidd backs up and connects with a gut kick, then a DDT and lastly his bridging northern lights suplex. Hooligan Hotrod looks out of it and AC Kidd makes the cover. The official slaps the mat three times and then calls for the bell. A new AWC Intercontinental Champion A.C. Kidd
